CCM(Consumer Centered Management)
CCM is a national certification system of South Korea which evaluates all aspects of corporate activities from the perspective of consumers with an aim to promote corporate competitiveness and consumer rights. It is managed by the Korea Consumer Agency and certified by the Korea Fair Trade Commission. The certification is renewed every two years. Conflicts between a certified company and consumers can be resolved in a speedy and reasonable manner in accordance with the CCM procedure. Along with the protection of consumer rights, certified companies can innovate their products and services based on consumer needs, which eventually leads to increased corporate competitiveness. Companies also benefit from raised public recognition and exposure of their products and services.
Companies complying with the CCM standards are given the discretionary power to resolve on their own consumer complaints reported to the Korea Fair Trade Commission. The CCM certification may also be considered in case of the company’s minor breach of laws. Companies of operational excellence are awarded and bestowed the right to use the certification mark in their promotional materials and advertisements. This certification system is particularly beneficial to small businesses that produce quality products but have limited resources to get public recognition.
